Entrepreneurship and Growth Management (EGM)

In cooperation with the Institute for Innovation Research, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (INNO-tec).

Lecturers

Andy Goldstein (course leader)
Michael Natterer (INNO-tec)

Course Description

The seminar "Entrepreneurship and Growth Management" (EGM) focuses on the skills and knowledge required by entrepreneurs to expand their young companies. The necessary backgrounds in finance, marketing, sales and strategy are introduced in class and in readings. These concepts are further illustrated by seasoned entrepreneurs sharing their experience with the class. Students work in small teams with high-tech companies on a real-life project with the goal to "identify, initiate, follow up and hand over" a new sales channel and marketing opportunity for an existing product of that company. Teams present their first thoughts and final recommendations in class and gather their findings in a comprehensive project report. The project work and class participation are the basis for student evaluation.

Course language is English.

Target Participants

In the winter semester of 2011-2012, "Entrepreneurship and Growth Management" is open to all students of the European Master in Management program studying at the LMU München as well as to LMU BWL diploma and master students as well as for students in the LMU Entrepreneurship Excellence Program.
